So in honour of today's celebration, I bring you a Halloween piece!
First the sketch:
And the finished:
As you can see, I did some changes. Dropped the pumpkin and cropped the composition considerably. Think it looks nice like this though!

Arabian Nights and an Indian
Hey all!
Just a few things I drew lately. First up a random Indian boy...just hanging, I guess.
Then there's this fairly quick photo-study I did of a belly dancer. The reason for this was because I wanted to draw something Arabian (for a theme at an Icelandic art site), so it was mainly a little research. It then ended up being the reference I used for another picture, completely in my own style, which you can also see below!
Here's the belly dancer in 'my style' :D Ink and cel-shading...how I missed you!

Hi all!
Here's something new and different to share. I did an animation for an animation course at the university. We were allowed to do whatever we wanted to, so I decided to try my hand (quite literally) at traditional, hand-drawn animation. Well, it was drawn digitally, straight into Photoshop, but the method itself is still traditional. I've never done this before, so this was definitely an experience!
With my love of different cultures and general history, I decided to make my animation about the evolution/progress of mankind, shown veeery quickly. I just have this one lady progress through the ages, nine different ones, to be exact.
I really wanted to add colour to it, but I ran out of time! So frustrating. Because initially I intended to show only the rough animation (yes, the entire thing is also available in rough), but I decided to clean the whole thing up with ink so I could later colour it. Oh well, maybe I'll do it anyway soon.
I know the text on the side is in Icelandic, but it should be fairly easy to decipher. In any case, here's the order:
Stone Ages > Egypt > Rome > England > France > Switzerland > N-America > Japan > Present Day.
Also, the title at the start is a saying, it means roughly to go very fast and quickly over something. In this case, World History :p
Song is a clip from 'Judy is a Dick Slapð by Belle and Sebastian.

The Last Three Airbenders
Hey all, long time no see!
Actually, that also applied to my drawing muse, seemed like it went on vacation. But I think I'm back on track, at least for a while!
So my two best friends and I are total Avatards--that is, obsessed with the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender (NOT James Cameron's Avatar). We're all big fans of the element air so I drew us all in said element! These are just the sketches, but I intend to colour them all soon.
This would be me, air gliding! I'm actually not too happy how my face turned out--it's always a challenge to do a self portrait. Maybe I'll do some tweaking before I ink it.
This is my awesome friend Guggus (or Guðný, to be exact). She's always bubbly and happy so I tried to capture her spirit! She also recently started a cool blog about design stuff, go check it out! Inspiration Madness
Here is my other awesome friend Toots (or Þórunn or Tóta or...etc). I quite like how she turned out, she looks a bit serious maybe for an airbender but I think it suits her personality :]
So stay tuned for the coloured versions! Oh, also of a sketch of my brother--he requested that I draw him as a firebender. ;)

Portal + Sketches
Sorry about the lack of updates, I seem to have problems finding my sketch groove lately.
Anyway, at least here's something arty and crafty. I made the infamous Weighted Companion Cube from the video game Portal in SketchUp. I haven't used that program for some months now, so I was a little rusty at first but was quick to remember. Took me a few hours still. I had forgotten that SU can actually be really fun to work with.
However, this is just the raw JPG-export from SU, with a few PhotoShop tweaks. I have a much better rendering program at home on my portable drive, so I intend to render this properly later.
And a couple of other sketches.
Lara Croft! This one I definitely want to finish. I'm just kinda lost on the colour...
Not sure if I'll finish this one, but we'll see. Katara is cool :D

Hey all!
Sorry about the lack of updates, a bit of a rocky start, but I fully intend to update this baby regularly.
The German language school is keeping me kind of busy, so I won't have a lot of time the next few weeks for sketching, but I'm hoping to squeeze something in between!
So yesterday I went to see "How to train your Dragon" and I can't stop thinking about it, it was absolutely gorgeous in every way.
I loved the design of a character named Ruffnut, a wicked little girl, so I decided to whip up a quick sketch.

At last
Hello!
I've been meaning for a long time to have my own blog where I will post all sorts of sketches, doodles and maybe some finished pieces inbetween. I might also make a portfolio here, but I'm going to start this off with some sketches and we'll then just see how it'll develope.
So, enough blabber. Here are a few recent sketches.
